In the future, scientists hope to detect cancers with a simple blood test

Lung cancer can be difficult to detect, but that may one day change. Preliminary new research suggests that doctors may someday be able to use a simple blood sample to detect new cancers or cancers that have recurred. The test may also be able to monitor tumor growth in patients.
